Description of the course – The goal of calibration is to minimize the measurement of uncertainty by ensuring the accuracy of the equipment. Calibration quantifies and controls errors or uncertainties within the measurement processes. In this competitive era, there is a need to have control over the component leads of measurement uncertainty and therefore the competence of the personnel who performs the calibration plays an important role.

Structure of the course – Classroom training with PowerPoint presentations and practical demonstrations followed by exam at the end of day.


Learning Outcomes - After the successful completion of the course, you will be having the knowledge of and skill to:

  • Understand the importance of calibration
  • Understand the difference between base and derived international units and how to apply, covert and use them.
  • Understand primary, secondary and working standards and metrological traceability.
  • Understand the interpretation of calibration certificates and impact of environmental factors affecting calibration process.
