PTB Germany Sponsored Project to Strengthen Quality Infrastructure for Water Monitoring of the Ganges River II
PTB Germany-sponsored project ‘Strengthening Quality Infrastructure for Water Monitoring of the Ganges River (Phase II), India’, a module of the German program called Sustainable Urban Development – Smart Cities (SUD-SC) is carried out in close collaboration with the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG)’, the central agency of the Indian government that is coordinating efforts to rejuvenate the Ganges River. Under the framework of this project, TCB/QCI has been engaged in the Training and Capacity Building of officials from the Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board (UKPCB) and Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) working at the Head Office and various regional offices of UKPCB and UPPCB to strengthen the Testing Infrastructure of the Pollution Control Boards to support the ‘NMCG’. Total of 6 trainings were conducted within the span of May to August 2024, at Dehradun, Uttarakhand and Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on ‘Laboratory System and Internal Audit as per ISO/IEC 17025: 2017’, ‘Uncertainty of Measurement and Decision Rule as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017’ and ‘ISO/IEC 17025:2017 – Risk Management Requirements & Implementation in Laboratories’, where participants hailed from different Regional Offices, NMCG, Head Office and Central State Laboratories.
