The Quality Council of India offers a diverse range of training programs within the Food domain, catering to professionals in various capacities and industries. Some of the programs are:

Venture into the Future of Millet Entrepreneurship – Our training program is designed to provide insight into the various Millet Processing Techniques and on the vast opportunities available in millet–based entrepreneurship. The course integrates theoretical learning through presentations with practical application offering hands-on experience through product preparation on pilot plants.  Additionally, it focuses on cultivating entrepreneurial skills for successful ventures in millet-based industries. It includes the introduction to millets, scope for use of alternate food grains and novel nutrition sources, Possibilities of millets-based foods for commercial exploitation and financing the plan etc. The training has a hands-on session of demonstration, formulation and development of millet based various products such as bakery products, extrusion product, chocolate-based products etc. The training also involved the possibilities of millet-based foods for commercial exploitation and financing the plan for the start-ups. Further, to make the training interactive and engaging, exercises with hands –on practices for making the product is also involved.

Requirements of Packaging (FSSR, 2018) & Labelling and Display (FSSR, 2020) – Food Commodities – The training course is focused on Packaging and Labelling requirements for the Food Entrepreneurs as per Food Safety and Standards (Packaging) Regulation, 2018; Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Regulations, 2020; and Food Safety and Standards (Advertising and Claims) Regulation, 2018. The training program would cover the introduction and importance of food packaging, appropriate packaging according to the category of the product, purpose of food labelling and claims .Broadly, the training covers the brief of Food Safety and Standards (Packaging) Regulation, 2018, Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Regulations, 2020; and Food Safety and Standards (Advertising and Claims) Regulation, 2018, Relevance of Food Packaging in Food Safety, Packaging Machinery and Equipment, Future Trends in Food Packaging, Mandatory Requirements for Food Labelling etc.. The program includes Individual / Syndicate exercises, case studies and Questions & Answers.

Food Product Standards (Fruits & Vegetable Products) – The training course is focused on  Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulation, 2011 related to Fruits & Vegetable Products. The training program would cover the General Standards for fruits and vegetable products, Standards for Thermally Processed Fruits & Vegetables, Standards for Pulp & Concentrates, Standards for Fruit Syrup & Sharbats etc.Broadly; the training covers the brief of Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulation, 2011, Relevance of Food standards in processing of food products, Detailed specifications for a wide range of, fruits and vegetables products etc. The program is inclusive of Individual / Syndicate exercises and Questions & Answers.

Food Product Standards (Dairy Products & Analogues) – The training course is focused on  Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulation, 2011 related to Dairy Product & Analogues. The training program will give an overview on the basic principles of compliance with the provisions of these regulations.  The training program would cover the General Standards for Dairy products & analogues, Standards for Milk, Standards for Milk Products, Standards for other Dairy Products, etc. Broadly; the training covers the brief of Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulation, 2011, Relevance of Food standards in processing of dairy products, An overview of the regulatory standards that are relevant to dairy, Examination of the necessary regulatory framework etc. The program is inclusive of Individual / Syndicate exercises and Questions & Answers.

Safer Food for Better Business – An eLearning course of about half an hour is a program ensuring quality to be maintained throughout the areas of food production and supply chain, and that safe, quality food is imported and exported all over the world without any restrictions, it is imperative that developers across the entire food supply chain adopt the culture of “food safety”, and that governments take the responsibility of ensuring the health and safety of citizens by ensuring that safer foods are put on the tables of every home, and better and secure food business culture is maintained.
