ABOUT TCB
To synergize training, awareness workshops and capacity building activities at the national and international levels and to further coordinate such activities centrally in a structured manner, an independent cell by the name of ‘Training and Capacity Building (TCB)’ under Quality Council of India has been established. TCB has been working in conjunction with international organizations and strives to build capacity in other countries by sharing knowledge and best practices through trainings and other means.
TCB caters to various domains like Quality Management, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Environment, Food Safety, Education, Project Management etc. to name a few. TCB imparts trainings on a wide spectrum of courses through different modes like classroom trainings, virtual trainings, webinars and eLearning. Considering the specific requirements of the client, TCB also provides customized training courses at the client's chosen venue. To widen the horizons, TCB keeps collaborating with the Government, Regulators, Academic Institutions, and Industrial Associations and provides regular and customized training courses to them.

Mr. Jaxay Shah
(Chairperson)
Mr. Jaxay Shah is the Chairperson of the Quality Council of India
(QCI), an autonomous body of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry. He is also the Founder and
Chairperson Managing Director of the Savvy Group of Companies, a professional construction
conglomerate. Furthermore, he is the former Chairperson of the Confederation of Real Estate
Developers’ Association of India (CREDAI), the apex body of private Real Estate developers
in India.
As the Chairperson of QCI, he is working towards improving the quality of goods and services
to help improve the quality of life of India’s 140 crore citizens. Under his leadership, QCI
is working in multiple sectors such as healthcare, education, trade & commerce, energy,
water, sanitation etc and engaging with 50+ central governments, state governments, and
public bodies. Mr. Shah has been taking significant steps to take the quality message to the
grassroots through initiatives such as the Gunvatta Sankalp in states, Quality City with the
emerging cities along with Sarpanch Samvad – working with grassroots leaders to permeate the
idea of quality. Additionally, he represents QCI, as a Promoter Director (Founding Member)
on the board of Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), an open network for all the
players who can sell or enable selling in an e-commerce setup.
Under his leadership, CREDAI joined the ‘National Mission of Housing for All’ by launching
more than 375 Affordable Housing Projects comprising 250,000 units by CREDAI member
developers across the country.
Mr Shah stands as an advisor and mentor at the PharmEasy Accelerator Program, which offers 1
lakh+ medicine and health products across various categories across the country. He is a
Promotional Director of Kensville Golf and Country Club, Savvy Swaraaj Sports Academy, and a
trustee of LAA (LD College of Engineering Alumni Association) as well as JYOT (NGO).
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering with a concentration in
Geo-technology and Foundation Engineering from L.D. College of Engineering, Gujarat
University.
Mr. Shah is an environment and sustainability crusader and is committed towards eco-friendly
construction using renewable technology for a better planet.

Mr. Chakravarthy T. Kannan
(Secretary General, QCI)
Mr. Chakravarthy T. Kannan, Secretary General, Quality Council of India (QCI), brings with him a distinguished career spanning leadership positions in the automotive and logistics sectors. He has led several key national organizations and global business expansion initiatives. With extensive experience as CEO of Mobility at Mahindra Logistics, where he successfully turned around complex B2B and B2C operations to achieve a positive PAT, Shri Chakravarthy brings a wealth of expertise in strategic management and business transformation. He has also led several business transformations such as ‘Digital Product Development e-NPI’, ‘Quality Crusade’, ‘Geelantheid - a billion-dollar Global business setup’. As the founder of CATAPULT, an industry-first tech-based incubator, he has demonstrated a keen ability to drive innovation and accelerate user case maturation, earning recognition from industry giants like Shell and Intel.
His prior roles as Business Head and Senior VP at Mahindra & Mahindra have equipped him with strategic acumen and a proven track record of spearheading global business expansion initiatives and driving organizational growth.
With his rich sea of experience, coupled with an MBA in Corporate Strategy from Ross Business School and a background in Industrial Engineering, Chakravarthy is poised to lead QCI towards new heights of excellence and innovation in quality standards.

Mr. Alok Jain
(Director and Head, TCB)
The philosophy at TCB is to create a youth and workforce that is equipped to meet the rising demands of the corporate world. As Director and Head of TCB Cell, Mr. Alok Jain believes in imparting the best practices required to enable and mobilize a skilled and capable workforce for varied fields. With over 25 years of experience in Industries and here at QCI, Mr Jain has provided trainings to various officials from countries such as Iran, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Myanmar, Iran etc. He is involved in evaluation of accreditation bodies of Philippines, Korea, Japan, USA, Botswana, Mauritius, UAE, New Zealand, Thailand, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Algeria, China etc., as Team Member and Team Leader on behalf of APAC, AFRAC, ARAC, ILAC and IAF.
He has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Masters of Technology in Industrial Engineering from Aligarh Muslim University, Uttar Pradesh

National Jal Jeevan Mission (NJJM)
TCB conducted 70 training sessions, involving around 3000 professionals including Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineers, Water Utility Managers, and Water Testing laboratory personnel nationwide. These sessions, spanning states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Bihar, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh, focus on bolstering water infrastructure under Jal Jeevan Mission. Additionally, TCB collaborates with states to provide training on Water Testing, Operation and Maintenance of Water Supply System Pumping Stations, Pipeline Networks, and NABL accreditation, enhancing skills nationwide.

Food and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI)
TCB recently completed a project for FSSAI focusing on the "Rationalization of Standardization & Certification Agencies" in the food sector. As part of this initiative, a gap analysis of 12 AGMARK laboratories will be conducted to assess their readiness for NABL accreditation under ISO/IEC17025 through an integrated assessment approach. This comprehensive evaluation encompassed various factors such as testing scope, resource availability (including land, building, manpower, and infrastructure), sample frequency, etc to determine suitability for FSSAI-NABL Integrated Accreditation.

Southern African Development Community (SADC)
TCB 'Developed guidelines on a common approach for implementing Conformity Assessment Standards by Member States' under the SADC Trade Facilitation Programme (TFP), backed by the EU, has been successfully completed. The Guidelines was developed to ease the mutual recognition and acceptance of conformity assessment results between trading partners across frontiers. The overall outcome of this assignment was to contribute to the increase in intra-regional trade through the enhancement of the transparency of conformity assessment regimes of the SADC Member States.
